- Description: This cartoon is from 1913, and yet the lady looks like a Japanese cartoon character. I like that. I suppose this guy is proposing to this lady because he's on one knee. On the other hand, he seems (from his facial expression) to be debating something. Maybe he is telling her that his leg really is broken and she doesn't believe him at all.
