Storage & Handling
- Keep your labels in the original packaging until you're ready for printing.
- Hold your labels by the edges to prevent smudging or fingerprints.
- Store your labels in a cool, dry place to avoid humidity.
- Shield your labels from consistent exposure to direct sunlight or fluorescent lighting.
- Store your label rolls flat on their side to prevent damage to the labels and core.
- Keep your direct thermal label rolls in a dark and/or covered environment. Prolonged exposure to light can cause the label material to darken over time.
Design & Printing
- Run each label through your printer only once. After multiple passes, you run the risk of damaging your labels and the printer.
- Adjust the label size setting within your print driver options to the exact dimensions of your label prior to printing.
- This material should only be printed in "Direct Thermal" mode and does not require a thermal transfer ribbon for printing.
Troubleshooting
- Feed Problems: Ensure your printer is set to "Gap" or "Web Sensing" and then reprint. If you're still experiencing issues with labels feeding incorrectly, clean your label sensor to make sure the printer is properly detecting the gaps between labels.
- General Print Quality Issues: Clean the printhead if you notice any print defects or loss of print quality.
- Print Is Too Light: Increase the print darkness in the printer settings and reprint. You can also try reducing the print speed.
- Print Is Too Dark: Reduce the print darkness in the printer settings and reprint.
- No Print on Label: Make sure you're using direct thermal label material. Direct thermal media is chemically treated to expose print when heat is applied. Using material that isn't compatible with direct thermal printing will result in a complete absence of print on the labels.
