What is the shelf life for unprinted labels (ie. - How long can they be inventoried before use and retain their adhesive and waterproof properties?)

Our label materials usually have a shelf life of 1-3 years depending on environmental and storage conditions such as heat and humidity. We recommend keeping the sheets in the plastic clamshell in which they are shipped, in a climate controlled room with low humidity. What’s the best way to remove this label? We re-use jars that customers bring back to us, and this label has been the biggest pain. It seems refrigeration makes it stick more. Is there a similar label that is more easily removed from glass that has been refrigerated?
