Can you print HD pictures on this ????

You can print images on the Gold foil for Inkjet but I would suggest samples for testing. Colors will likely appear differently on the foil material when compared to white label materials. You can request a few sample sheets by visiting the link below.

Question 3

What is the thickness of the Weatherproof Polyester for Laser?  I used this size and the OL475LP for the same job and these seem to be much thinner than the OL475LP and tear quite easily.  Do you have a label this size with the same thickness as the OL475LP?

The Weatherproof Polyester for Laser (LP) has a 56# face sheet with a 56# liner. The facestock is 2.0 +/- 10% mil in thickness and the liner is 3.0 +/- 10% mil in thickness. You can also view the Material Details at the link below.

Question 4

Are these labels peelable after they have been applied.   That is can you peel them off a wine bottle without the adhesive sticking to the bottle.  I want to use them for labeling home brew, and then easily peel them off when I reuse the bottle for another batch.

The Weatherproof Polyester for Laser has a permanent adhesive so it is not easily removed without leaving residue behind. We do have a video and tutorial at the link below which shows you how to remove labels and any remaining residue from the adhesive.

Question 5

Can I use these label on bottles containing body oil? Will the oil affect the printing on the label? If I'm not able to use these which type would you recommend? Thank you.

Accepted Answer

For oil-based products we would recommend our weatherproof materials. These are polyester-based and coated to withstand moisture so they would be a much more durable option compared to the paper-based materials. The weatherproof materials themselves will not break down when exposed to oil so you should be able to wipe the oil right off the polyester material. However, the ink and toner used for printing may react to the oil and could possibly stain or discolor slightly changing the look of the label.

Will the waterproof polyester stickers work in a ink jet printer?

No, the Weatherproof Polyester Laser (LP) material is compatible only with laser printers. For inkjet printers, you have the 2 options below for our Weatherproof Matte (WJ) and Weatherproof Gloss (WI) inkjet materials.

Having a hard time telling what ones are vinyl.
Can you tell me which number is the VINYL Clear gloss 3” x 3” (up to 3.75” on one side is fine) weatherproof?

What is the post-consumer recycled content percentage of this material?

Our Removable white Matte (WR) is not made from recycled materials. However, our 100% Recycled White (RX) is made from 100% Post Consumer Waste (PCW) but features a permanent adhesive rather than a low tack, temporary adhesive like our removable material.

Is this paper and adhesive acid free?

It is our understanding that there are currently no regulations relating specifically to pressure sensitive label materials being used in archival applications. The facestock of the Standard White Matte (WX) complies with the NSI/NISO Z39.48-1992 for "Permanence of Paper for Publications and Documents in Libraries and Archives". Claiming that any adhesive is definitively safe for archival purposes is difficult, due to the fact that there’s no accurate method of measuring the acidity of an adhesive once it’s been applied to a label product.

The OL172WX utilizes an emulsion acrylic adhesive rather than a rubber-based adhesive, making it better suited for archival applications. Emulsion acrylic adhesives do not yellow or degrade to the level that rubber-based adhesives do. The adhesive is also water based and does not include any of the oils used in the compounding of rubber-based adhesives. In addition, the adhesive has passed the Photographic Activity Test (per ISO-18916), which specifies that it is compliant and graded for use in photo-storage applications.

whats a good color laser printer for these

While we haven't had the opportunity to test every specific printer model in house, we have found that many of the popular models from Hewlett-Packard, Epson, and Canon brand printers work well with our materials. We've also received customer feedback supporting this as well.

When shopping for a printer we would recommend checking the printer model's specifications to ensure it is able to handle specialty label materials. You may also want to consider the printer's printable area since many printers have at least one non-printable margin which will prevent it from being able to print to the edge of the sheet, or the edge of the label if the margins are narrow.
