How well does the ink hold up on these? I purchased the clear sticker paper sold by Silhoutte but their paper didn't seem to take the ink from my inkjet printer well... it was splotchy at best, and at worst, almost appeared to bead up on the surface paper in some spots. Just curious if this issue may be related more to the printer than the paper? Or maybe the Silhoutte clear sticker paper just isn't very good. I'd like to try this Clear Gloss for Inkjet paper from onlinelabels but $50+ is a lot to spend on paper that I'm not sure about how well it will work with my printer. Would love any feedback on how well inkjet printing works with this paper as far as quality and saturation of ink. Thanks!

Question 2

I use the print to cut feature on my Cricut Explore Air 2. When making custom labels/stickers for customer I prefer a gloss finish. I think it looks more professional. I have trouble with the Cricut being about to read the scan marks when I use your gloss white labels. It just will not work. Do you make a semi-gloss full page - no back slit label. Something between your matte and gloss.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to eliminate those dang scan error messages I would love to heat them. Thanks....and love your labels!

Is there a set temperature range that these can be applied for exterior vehicle use?  For example, can they be applied if it is below freezing?  Do these need any surface treatment to protect from fading or running?   Thanks

The Weatherproof Matte for Inkjet is a very durable material and water resistant, however it is not considered UV resistant so exposure to direct sunlight for an extended period of time could cause fading. You could potentially treat the labels after printing with a UV protective spray like Krylon's UV-Resistant Clear Coating to improve durability in direct sunlight.

The minimum application temperature for the Weatherproof Matte for Inkjet is +23° F. Once applied it can withstand temperatures from -20° F to +212° F.

The weight of the Removable White Matte is 50# with a thickness of 8.0 mil ± 10%. We recommend using a printer setting of 151-176 gsm.

The weatherproof polyester labels for laser printing (product OL177LP) have a slight sheen to them. They are not as glossy as our gloss label products, but they may have enough sheen to serve your purpose. A Sharpie brand marker will dry on the surface. I have made stickers using my inkjet printer on the weatherproof matte paper and have stuck them to phone cases/water bottles. After a few days of use the ink begins to rub off. Is there something that can be done to avoid this? I thought that the weatherproof paper was made to withstand everyday use without rubbing off?

I apologize for the print quality issues experienced. Our Weatherproof Matte Inkjet is specially formulated to work with standard inkjet printers. This product features a topcoat that is designed to encapsulate and protect the ink as it's absorbed into the sheet. After printing, the ink shouldn't smear when touched with a wet hand or when soaked in water.

You can adjust the paper type and print quality settings within your printer options to achieve the most durable print quality. A paper type settings such as Photo, Glossy, Labels, or Heavy paper will provide the best results. A "Standard” or "Normal" print quality setting would be recommended since the "Best" setting could potentially oversaturate the special inkjet topcoat mentioned above.

Are the brown kraft labels and the paper backing made of paper only (no plastics)? Trying to be more eco-friendly here, thanks!

Yes, the Brown Kraft's face sheet and liner are both paper based, not plastic. The adhesive, however, is acrylic so it would not be considered recyclable.

Do you have a sticker paper that's archival? (Acid free, etc) And can be colored/painted on?
Also, will the removable white sticker paper stay where it's put, or will it eventually fall off?
Can these materials be cut with scissors, or do they require a Cricut?

The Removable White Matte has a low tack adhesive ideal for temporary applications where you need to remove the label without leaving residue behind. This is an uncoated, paper-based material so it can be cut using a cutting machine or standard scissors. It is intended to be printed with inkjet or laser printers but because it's an uncoated paper you could potentially use any type of writing utensil or paint. Regarding the material being used for archival purposes, to our knowledge there are currently no regulations relating specifically to pressure sensitive label materials being used in archival applications. The facestock of this product complies with the NSI/NISO Z39.48-1992 for "Permanence of Paper for Publications and Documents in Libraries and Archives". Claiming that any adhesive is definitively safe for archival purposes is tricky, due to the fact that there’s no accurate method of measuring the acidity of an adhesive once it’s been applied to a label product. This product (OL177WR) utilizes an emulsion acrylic adhesive rather than a rubber-based adhesive, making it a much better fit for archival applications. Emulsion acrylic adhesives do not yellow or degrade to the level that rubber-based adhesives do. The adhesive is water based and does not include any of the oils used in the compounding of rubber-based adhesives. In addition, the adhesive has passed the Photographic Activity Test (per ISO-18916), which specifies that it is compliant and graded for use in photo-storage applications.
