Question 2

After label is printed can it be marked with a pen with additional information.

The Standard White Matte is an uncoated, paper-based material that can be written on with a pen or marker. However, writing over a printed area may be difficult if the print is dark or over-saturated. With that in mind, I would recommend samples for testing. product #OL340, is this a full sheet label with the die cut of the label to peel, so I could do a full bleed printing, without having a white edge on each label.

Question 5

Ink won't dry after printing - is there something I can do?

We apologize for the issue you have experienced. Smearing or smudging can generally be resolved by adjusting the paper type setting within your printer options. Adjusting the paper type setting to a Photo or Glossy option should resolve the issue.

Question 6

I find the adhesive to be very weak on this item, yet I see others have commented that it is strong. I am using on plastic squeeze bottles. I even have used alcohol to be sure the containers are clean. Is there another option for me? I have used the round gloss labels on this same bottle without any problem, but they are so much more expensive to use. Any suggestions?

Accepted Answer

Our Standard White Matte (WX) has a permanent adhesive that works well on most surfaces. We also offer the Aggressive White Matte (AT) which has a much stronger adhesive. However, our label materials are ideal for fixed surfaces. Squeeze bottles won't maintain their shape so it can cause the labels wrinkle or lift.

There is a wide range of factors that can contribute to how well a label adheres to the surface it’s being applied to so we’ve included some recommendations below.

-It’s important to ensure that the surface is clean and free of any debris, dust or moisture before attempting to apply your label.

-Applying the center of the label first, and then continuing to apply pressure outward will ensure a nice, even application that should promote better adhesion.

-Be careful when handling the label before application. Oil from your fingers can negatively affect the strength of the adhesive - try to hold the labels by the edge and touch the adhesive as little as possible.

-Remember, our labels are pressure sensitive, so be sure to use some force when applying them to your surface or container.

Does polyester give a glossy look? Is it better to purchase Weatherproof Polyester Laser labels or Weatherproof Glossy Inkjet labels for hand sanitizers that will contain a picture?

The Weatherproof Polyester Laser (LP) does have a satin finish. However, if you are doing full coverage printing, your laser printer’s toner will cover the satin coating on the material which may cause a more matte appearance in the printed area since the satin paper finish will not show through the toner. This result will vary depending on your laser printer model, as some laser printers will offer a glossier looking toner.

Are these labels easy to remove from spice or pantry jars in case of mistakes?

The Weatherproof Polyester Laser (LP) is a film-based material that doesn't rip or tear easily like paper. Although this can make removing it easier, the permanent adhesive may leave residue behind. Will these work to label silicone freezer bags

The OL340 is offered in various adhesive materials. For freezer applications, we recommend using a weatherproof material or our Aggressive White Matte. For optimal adhesion, ensure that the labels are applied to empty bags on a hard, flat surface, allowing you to apply pressure, as the adhesive is pressure-sensitive.
