The Weatherproof Gloss Inkjet (WI) works well on a variety of surfaces. Typically for candles, the labels are placed on the packaging or containers. Since the WI material can be exposed to temperatures up to 212° F, it should be fine for any candle container. Are these clear labels for 8 oz Boston pet bottles ?

The 8 oz boston round PET bottle are approximately 5" in height with a wraparound measurement of 7" so the OL5100CK should provide ample coverage. I want to use for massage oils. Are these oil proof? I wouldn't want ink to rub off if holding bottle with oil on my hands.

The White Gloss for Laser (WS) is a paper-based material so it would not be oil or water resistant. For oil based products, we would recommend trying samples of our weatherproof materials which are much more durable and moisture resistant. Although the materials themselves may not be negatively affected by direct oil contact, the toner used in standard laser printers may discolor or degrade. Are these labels (adhesive) photo-safe? I’m looking to put them on the back of Christmas photo cards.

It is our understanding that there are currently no regulations relating specifically to pressure sensitive label materials being used in archival applications, like labeling books and photos. The facestock of the Standard White Matte (WX) complies with the NSI/NISO Z39.48-1992 for "Permanence of Paper for Publications and Documents in Libraries and Archives". Claiming that any adhesive is definitively safe for archival purposes is difficult, due to the fact that there’s no accurate method of measuring the acidity of an adhesive once it’s been applied to a label product. The OL5100WX utilizes an emulsion acrylic adhesive rather than a rubber-based adhesive, making it better suited for archival applications. Emulsion acrylic adhesives do not yellow or degrade to the level that rubber-based adhesives do. The adhesive is also water based and does not include any of the oils used in the compounding of rubber-based adhesives. In addition, the adhesive has passed the Photographic Activity Test (per ISO-18916), which specifies that it is compliant and graded for use in photo-storage applications.
