Yes. If you'd like to test whether a material will work for your application, we can send you a few sample sheets. Please fill out our sample request form and we'll mail them to you.
We don't recommend feeding a label sheet through a laser printer more than once. The heat from the printing process can cause the adhesive to soften or the sheet to curl. Softened adhesive can ooze inside the printer or cause the label to peel off. It can also soften the toner which can make the printed design smudge.
We recommend only using the product as intended. "Inkjet only" materials may not be able to withstand the heat of the laser printing process. The high temperatures could cause the facesheet to melt or the adhesive to ooze, leading to jamming and printer damage. For "laser only" materials, they likely won't cause damage to your printer, but the ink may not dry properly. This can lead to smudging even after an extended drying time.
We offer custom printing on sheets with no minimum quantities or hidden setup charges. You can select your shape, size, material, and quantity, as well as upload your own ready-to-print label artwork. We do not currently offer custom printing for roll labels.
Our products are non-toxic, and therefore don't require an MSDS according to OSHA. If you still require one, contact customer service at 1-888-575-2235 or submit a support ticket.
The term "die cut" is used to describe the process of cutting shapes from paper and other materials. This process works a lot like a cookie cutter – we place a die cutter on our machines and run it over uncut label paper. The resulting labels have shapes cut into them that correspond to the shape of the die.
This means that the die line is the physical border of your label. You should design your label with the assumption that nothing outside the die line will print or remain on the label once it's peeled up from the liner. If you want your design to go all the way to the edges of your label (as opposed to it having a white border), consider adding a bleed.
We make every effort to ensure our labels arrive in pristine condition. That's why we have a variety of packaging options designed to protect the integrity of your label sheets and rolls during shipping and handling.
For orders less than 100 sheets, your labels are packaged with chipboard in an envelope. For orders more than 100 sheets, your labels will arrive in a clamshell package. For orders of roll labels, the rolls are shrink wrapped and then boxed.
It depends on the material and writing instrument. Permanent-style markers (such as Sharpies®) work on most of the materials we offer, but other utensils may vary. If you plan to add handwritten content to your labels, click "Learn More" below to view a list of materials and their compatible writing instruments.
Whatever writing utensil you choose, we recommend giving the ink ample time to dry. If you'd like to test the material and writing instrument for yourself, you can request samples anytime.
Our clear matte materials have a non-shiny, flat finish. They look frosted when applied. Our clear gloss materials are shiny and completely transparent. They offer a "no label look" when applied. Read more on the subject in our article, Gloss vs Matte: Choosing the Right Clear Label.
Of our standard label materials, a white matte finish is our only removable option at this time. However, we offer custom tinted removable labels by special order. View our custom color label options. Please note that clear is not available as a custom tinted product. To place a custom order, please fill out a support ticket or call customer service at 1-888-575-2235.
Our label sheets are packaged face up, if you're opening them for the first time. To differentiate the front from the back of your label sheets further, you can compare two sheets with one flipped over. The printable side is a brighter white compared to the throw-away liner.
