Layers Of A Self-Adhesive Label
Our blank pressure-sensitive labels are made from the highest-quality materials. They consist of a liner, adhesive, facestock, and sometimes a top coat. Each layer performs a specific job to create premium quality labels for any application. Below, we break down the role of each layer:
- Liner - this is the bottom layer of your label, the one you throw away after use. While it's not part of the application process, it is important to the printing process. A low-quality liner can cause printing issues such as jamming and curling.
- Printable Facestock - this is your label's top layer, the part you can see and feel. Facestocks come in a variety of different colors, from bright white and metallic to fluorescent and pastel.
- Adhesive - this is the sticky layer that allows your facesheet to adhere to your surface. We offer a variety of different adhesives for any application, including removable, permanent, and heavy-duty.
- Printable Top Coat - this is an added layer that offers extra protection against liquids and other conditions. It can ensure a material is durable enough for a variety of uses like outdoor application or heavy handling.
