While we haven't had the opportunity to test every printer model in house, we have found that many of the popular models from Hewlett-Packard, Epson, and Canon brand printers work well with our materials. When shopping for a printer we would recommend checking the printer model's specifications to ensure it's able to handle specialty label materials.
Clear sticker paper is typically suitable for both inkjet and laser printers. However, it's essential to ensure that you purchase clear sticker paper specifically labeled as compatible with inkjet or laser printers.
Clear sticker paper for laser printers often has a heat-resistant coating to withstand the high temperatures generated by laser printers during the printing process. Using clear sticker paper designed for inkjet printers in a laser printer could result in poor print quality, melting, or even damage to the printer.
It depends on the sticker paper you choose. Generally, most clear sticker papers for laser printers are water-resistant, however for better protection, it's recommended to add an overcoat spray or a clear laminate on top. We also offer clear custom printed roll labels which arrive laminated for extra durability.
To maintain the quality of printable clear sticker paper, it's important to store it properly. Use the original packaging to protect it from dirt and moisture. Keep it in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight, heat sources and humidity. Excessive UV light and moisture can affect the adhesive and print quality.
One of the best practices for cutting printable clear sticker paper is to ensure your cutting blade is sharp. Dull blades can cause tearing or jagged edges, especially on delicate materials. Additionally, if you're using a cutting machine from Cricut or Silhouette, adjust the blade settings according to the thickness of your sticker paper. Test cuts on a small piece of the material to find the optimal settings before cutting your actual designs. Overcutting, where the blade cuts into the mat or surface beneath the sticker paper, can lead to ragged edges. This guide includes all of our recommended cut settings for our sticker paper materials, included clear.
